Ilya Poletaev, piano, harpsichord and organ

Dmitri Shostakovich’s 24 Preludes and Fugues op. 84 were written as a homage to Johann Sebastian Bach’s Wohltemperiertes Clavier. Ilya Poletaev, pianist, harpsichordist and organist, combines a number of Shostakovich’s Preludes and Fugues, some of Bach’s own with well-known Baroque favourites such as Handel’s “Lascia la spina, cogli la rosa” and Purcell’s “When I am laid in earth”.
